| | | | Valentines 2010 | | | | | Thank you to our wonderful clients and friends for making Valentine's 2010 a success! Here's a little story that happened to me as the holiday was developing. As some of you may already know, I have been in NY for a few months as we continue to keep our wonderful store in WP open for business.
As desperate as I was to return to O-Town to help our team get through the rush something kept trying to keep me from them.
On Wednesday there was a huge snow storm in NYC and all airports were closed and flights cancelled. As I tried desperately to get a new ticket for Thursday morning, I kept on striking out! I was told that the best would be a flight on Monday the 15th! Who wanted to be back on the 15th!!??? Not me, that's for sure.
So I started purchasing tickets from different airlines hoping that one of them would fly me out. As I arrived from work on Wednesday night, I checked my flights online and found that all three had been cancelled for the next day. I called around, and at about 12am, an angel at JetBlue must've heard the distress in my voice and finally told me: I can get you on a flight into Tampa, the flight departs at 6am, arrives at 10am and you can get a car to drive you up to O-Town.
As you can imagine, I was elated! Then the unthinkable happened....I hung up the phone in error. I immediately jumped online to www.jetblue.com and there it was....the last ticket into Tampa was waiting for me as if from up above. I immediately purchased the ticket and arrived at the airport at 4am just in case.
There were scores of people waiting to get on an airplane...any airplane just as long as they could get out of dodge!
I arrived in Tampa thirty minutes late and was able to get a car to drive me to the store. Immediately upon arriving I was interviewed by WESH2 News in regards to the holiday and it was great! Me and the team were able to get through the rush and the rest is history.
The moral of the story is: Never ever give up!!! When in need, ask the man upstairs....he'll never let you down. |
